～素朴な疑問が世界初、機能別ソースコード売買サービスに～
◆「ＩＴ業界に移って、ふと、素朴な疑問が沸いた。それがビジネスモデルの原点です」。ＯＮＥ ＡＣＴ（東京）の浅野裕亮社長は同社事業のルーツをそう説明する。素朴な疑問とはソフトウエアのプログラミングに関するもので、なぜ、同じ機能を発揮するためのソフトを皆が一から作るのだろうといった問題意識だ。すでに作られたものを選択し、改変したり組み合わせたりした方が効率的なのでは…。このアイデアから、世界初の機能単位のソースコード売買プラットフォーム「ｐｉｅｃｅ（ピース）」が誕生する。
◆ピースのサービスはシンプルで、ソースコード＝各種プログラミング言語（Ｃ言語、Ｊａｖａ等）で書かれたコンピュータープログラムの売り買いをネット上で成立させる。ただそれだけで、売買時の手数料および広告掲載料が収益源のプラットフォームビジネスの典型となる。取引対象となる機能単位ソースコードの「機能」を実物で例示すると「ファイルを指定サイズに分割・復元する」「緯度と経度から２点間の直線距離を求める」「スマホで脈拍を測定する」など多種多様。価格帯は０（無料）から高くて１０００ドル程度。
◆「立ち上げて５カ月。海外からのアクセスが増えており、最近の国別利用状況はインド、日本、ロシアがトップ３」。浅野社長は早くもグローバル化が進んでいると説明し、「競合のないオンリーワンシステムで、ソフト技術者の不足の解消や働き方改革をシェアリングにより実現するもの。ＩＴ企業にソースコードの提供を働きかけ、一方で、どういったコードを求めているか、ニーズを集めてプラットフォームを確立していく」と、その意義や今後の普及浸透策を明らかにする。
◆同社は２０１３年に浅野社長が設立した。浅野社長は高収益で知られる自動制御機器・製造販売会社のトップセールスマンとして２０代を過ごす。３０歳を超え、「売ることが簡単になりすぎてしまった」（浅野社長）ため、当時、最も苦手だったＩＴ分野への挑戦を決める。地方ＩＴ企業の東京事業の立ち上げなどに携わったのち自ら起業する。「他業界から入ってきたので、（ＩＴ業界の）全体を俯瞰する目線が持てて、そんな観点から、ピースが明らかに世の中に足りていないフィールドを埋めるサービスであると確信した」（同）。
◆著作権の問題、価格の最適化、ニーズとシーズのマッチング手法…。プラットフォーム運営につきまとう課題・難問は少なくなく、同社は走りながら、それぞれの解を見いだし、日々進化を遂げようとしている状況だ。「必ず競合が出てくるが、機能単位のソースコード売買で世界一のプラットフォームになる」と意気込む浅野社長は、「ピースを使って新たなイノベーションが次々と生まれていく世界。それが目指すゴール」とも語っている。（編集子）

A simple question in the world’s first function-specific source code trading service
“When I moved to the IT industry, I suddenly had a simple question.” Yusuke Asano, president of ONE ACT (Tokyo), explains the roots of the company’s business. “The naive question is related to software programming and a major problem which is why everyone creates software from scratch to perform the same functions. I think it would be more efficient to select a ready made one and modify or combine it to create the solution you want. From this idea, the world’s first function-based source code trading platform “PieceX” was born.”
Peace’s service is simple. Source code = computer programs written in various programming languages (C language, Java, etc.) can be bought and sold online. However, that alone makes it a typical platform business whose revenue sources are transaction fees and advertising fees. Actual example of the “function” of the source code to be traded is “divide and restore the file to the specified size”, “calculate the linear distance between two points from the latitude and longitude”, and “measure the pulse with a smartphone”. etc. Prices range from 0 (free) to as high as $1000.
“It’s been five months since its launch. Access from overseas is increasing, and India, Japan, and Russia are the top three countries in terms of recent usage.” President Asano explained that globalization is already progressing, saying, “This is a one-of-a-kind system with no competition, which will solve the shortage of software engineers and realize work style reforms through sharing. Providing source code to IT companies. On the other hand, we will establish a platform by collecting needs such as what kind of code we are looking for.”
The company was founded in 2013 by President Asano. President Asano spent his twenties as a top salesman for an automatic control equipment manufacturing and sales company known for its high profitability. He is over 30 years old, and “selling has become too easy”. After being involved in the launch of the Tokyo business of a local IT company, he started his own business. “Because I came from another industry, I was able to have a bird’s-eye view of the entire (IT industry), and from that perspective, I was convinced that PieceX would be a service that would fill in the fields that were clearly lacking in the world.”
Copyright issues, price optimization, methods of matching needs and seeds.. There are quite a few issues and difficulties that accompany platform operation, and the company is trying to find solutions to each and evolve on a daily basis while running. “There will always be competition, but we will become the world’s number one platform for buying and selling source code on a function-by-function basis,” said President Asano.
